‘PHOTOGRAPHY IS A CREATIVE ART, CATCHING A MOMENT IN TIME, AND HOLDING IT STILL’

I first picked up a camera as a young teenager, in the days of film, using my dad’s camera with the turning square flash that sat on top of the camera.  I started with a little automatic film camera, and progressed to the larger DSLR film cameras, trying out different brands along the way.  I loved taking photos of anything and everything, of my family, holidays and our children’s sport. A busy family life with a Husband and 3 Children, and working full time pushed my photography to the side for a long time.

In 2016 I decided to put more time back into my photography, I started the journey of learning as much as I could of the various aspects and genres of photography, and I am still continuing to learn.  Photography has now become a passion that I love.  Over time I have found that my photography eye has changed, I enjoy the technical elements of photography and the creative side of photography and editing.  I also love how photography makes you slow down and become more aware of all of the beauty around you, and how it creates memories to share and enjoy.

I also really love Travel Photography, venturing to new places, returning to previously visited places, and exploring, experiencing and photographing what I see and feel.  It makes you feel like you are living life to the full, and I hope for that to be translated through the images I take.

My Create Life Purpose is to capture and bring the Beauty, Colour, Sounds, Textures and Emotion to Life in my Images, and enjoy being able to share these moments, and enhance people’s lives through my Images.

My passion and dedication to the art form of Photography and Imagery in all of it’s forms, increases every day, and is inspired by our natural surroundings.  I strive to conquer new challenges and gain more understanding and appreciation for the elements around me.   I am constantly thinking about how I can capture the beauty, emotion and feeling I see around me in a Photograph, and bringing it to life.

I first studied a DSLR Photography Course in 2016, I have also obtained an Industry Standard Internationally Accredited (IARC) Professional Level of Photography Diploma 2018, and also a Griffith University Qld Australia run Certificate of Completion for Steve Parish Online Masterclass ‘Photography a Pathway to Purpose’ 2019.  I am continually watching and studying various photography mediums to further many aspects of my photography knowledge.

I have entered various Photography Competitions since 2018, receiving Commended, Highly Commended, Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.  I use the Photography Competitions to push myself and help me improve my Photography in general.

I am an RPA Accredited Drone Operator in the Excluded Category 2021.

In Partnership with Wendy Klein, I run Workshops around Brisbane and the surrounding areas.

I am also available for private Photography Tuition upon request.
